Discover Digital Workshop

Back in May the Centre for Inclusive Living Perth & Kinross, in conjunction with the Health Alliance Scotland ran a free Digital Wellbeing Workshop at The Y Centre in Perth.

Maisie Peebles, Discover Digital Development Officer was there to present the workshop and feedback seemed generally very positive from all who attended.

The participants were introduced to three digital health tools and an overview of QR codes.

The aim was to understand and use them to potentially improve one’s wellbeing or that of someone they supported.

My House of Memories

The My House of Memories app, co-created with people living with dementia, is a digital collection of museum and everyday objects from across the decades that have been brought to life with sound, music and descriptions. The app allows people living with dementia and their carers to explore pictures of objects together and find things that resonate with them, encouraging connections and conversations.

In the workshop we also had a look at QR Codes (Quick Response) – two-dimensional barcodes that store data in a square grid of black and white squares. You can scan them using a camera and they can take you to more information, a website, a form or even a full set of contact details.

If you want to try this now, you can simply photograph the QR Code below and it will give you the full details of us here at Centre for Inclusive Living, Perth & Kinross and that will save you having to type out all our separate contact details.
