Staff and members of Centre for Inclusive Living Perth & Kinross will commemorate this day by having time together reviewing a few of The Changing Places and Accessible Toilets in Perth City Centre and checking them for accessibility.
Here are some of the photos of us out and about and what we came across by visiting the loo.
CILPK Members before setting off to look at some Changing Places and accessible toilets around Perth
Christmas Tree blocking Toilet Signage
Poor signage on door – lack of contrast
Steps that should be highlighted with a hi-vis strip
Toilet roll far from toilet – you need long arms
Mirror could easily have been made full length
Tiny signage on door for a Changing Place
A notice on the door – not legible and very small
Entry System to Changing Place Toilet
Remote control for taps and light – was hard to reach
Toilet paper holder directly behind, not accessible for anyone
Would have been nice to see a Comfort Scheme logo for better signposting, but well done to Perth Theatre for doing this.

World Toilet Day has been a UN observance since 2013. It raises awareness of people living without access to safely managed sanitation. Access to sanitation and drinking water is a catalyst for every aspect of sustainable development and provides critical resilience against the impacts of climate change.

Very short cord, nowhere near the ground even untied. Flush blocked by sanitary bin making it hard to reach. Paper towels to dry hands high above sink.
