Safe Place Perth | Staff Guidance

Safe Places Perth is a scheme that is designed to help vulnerable members of society lead more independent lives and feel safe while out in the community.

As a Safe Place, what do you need to do?

  • Offer assistance – whether this be a glass of water or phoning a trusted contact, or emergency services
  • Let the person tell you what they need, at their own pace and in their own way
  • Be kind and considerate 🙂

The Safe Place Scheme helps make our communities safer and more welcoming for everyone.

Shops, cafés, businesses, and organisations can sign up to be a Safe Place.
This means if someone is feeling worried, lost, or upset while they are out, they can look for the Safe Place logo, go inside, and get help straight away.

The scheme gives people peace of mind and helps them feel more confident and independent.

To keep the scheme strong, we need kind and skilled staff in venues to join as members.
By joining, your venue will be offering even better customer service.

If you’d like to know more, get in touch to arrange a visit from our team.
Your Safe Place will receive:

  • a window sticker
  • postcards
  • a staff notice

These will help you support the scheme.
