What is a Disability Champion?
A Disability Champion is someone who helps make sure people with disabilities are treated fairly and have the same opportunities as everyone else.
What does a Disability Champion do?
- Advocacy: They speak up for people with disabilities to make sure their voices are heard.
- Support: They provide support and guidance to people with disabilities to help them access services and opportunities.
- Education: They help raise awareness and educate others about the needs and rights of people with disabilities.
- Accessibility: They work to make sure buildings, websites, and services are accessible to people with disabilities.
- Policy: They may work with governments or organisations to develop policies that promote inclusion and equality for people with disabilities.
Who can be a Disability Champion?
Anyone can be a Disability Champion! It doesn’t matter if you have a disability yourself or not. What matters is that you care about making the world a fairer and more inclusive place for everyone.
