In celebration of Scottish Learning Disability Week 2024, a series of events will take place, championing the theme of “digital transformation”.
The week-long initiative encourages us to explore the digital landscape and its impact on people with learning disabilities.
Since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, our reliance on digital technology has surged. However, this may have presented barriers for people with learning disabilities to join in the digital transformation. The online landscape, while full of opportunities, also presents risks. Our aim during this week is to empower and support individuals with learning disabilities to navigate the online world safely.
We invite you to come along to events taking place from Monday May 6 to Friday May 10 in the Civic Hall, Council Buildings, 2 High Street, Perth.
Councillor Colin Stewart, Chair of the Perth and Kinross Integration Joint Board, expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m delighted this week of events is taking place. The online digital world can be daunting and seem scary and we want to highlight the services that can support people with learning disabilities. There are events to suit a range of interests so please come along and help us champion digital inclusion for all.”
